Areas Served Throughout Texas

For over thirty-five years, I have represented clients facing criminal charges and healthcare licensing issues throughout the state of Texas. While my office is based in Houston, my practice extends across Texas, from major metropolitan areas to rural counties.

Statewide Criminal Defense and License Defense Practice

Criminal charges and healthcare licensing board investigations can happen anywhere in Texas. When they do, you need an attorney who understands not just the law, but also the local courts, prosecutors, and procedures in your specific jurisdiction.

I have appeared in courtrooms in over thirty Texas counties, representing clients in criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies, and in licensing matters before the Texas Board of Nursing, Texas State Board of Pharmacy, Texas Physician Assistant Board, and other healthcare licensing authorities.

Over the course of my career, I have represented clients and appeared in the following Texas counties:

East Texas: Angelina, Hardin, Jefferson, Liberty, San Jacinto

Greater Houston Area: Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, Waller

Central Texas: Austin, Bastrop, Bell, Fayette, Grimes, Hays, Travis, Washington, Williamson

North Texas: Clay, Collin, Dallas, Denton, Navarro, Tarrant

South Texas: Bexar, Comal, DeWitt

West Texas: El

Additional Counties: Brazos, McLennan, Walker

This extensive geographic experience means I understand the unique characteristics of different jurisdictions across Texas. I know how cases are handled in large urban counties like Harris, Dallas, Bexar, and Tarrant. I also understand the distinct procedures and practices in smaller rural counties throughout East Texas, the Hill Country, and other regions of the state.

Houston and Surrounding Counties

While my practice extends throughout Texas, a significant portion of my work occurs in the Greater Houston area. I regularly handle cases in:

Harris County – As Texas’s most populous county and home to Houston, Harris County has busy criminal courts and sees a high volume of cases. I have extensive experience in all Harris County criminal courts, from misdemeanor courts to district courts handling serious felonies.

Fort Bend County – One of the fastest-growing counties in Texas, Fort Bend has its own distinct court culture and procedures. I have handled numerous cases in Fort Bend County courts.

Montgomery County – Located north of Houston, Montgomery County serves a large suburban and rural population. I regularly appear in Montgomery County courts.

Galveston County – Serving the Gulf Coast region, Galveston County handles cases ranging from beach-town misdemeanors to serious felonies. I have substantial experience in Galveston County courts.

Brazoria County – South of Houston, Brazoria County encompasses both suburban communities and industrial areas. I have represented clients in Brazoria County on numerous occasions.

Chambers County – East of Houston, Chambers County is a smaller jurisdiction where I have handled both criminal and licensing-related matters.

Waller County – Home to Prairie View A&M University, Waller County is northwest of Houston and I have appeared in its courts multiple times.

Major Metropolitan Areas

Beyond the Houston area, I have significant experience in Texas’s other major metropolitan regions:

Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex – I have represented clients in Dallas County, Tarrant County, Denton County, and Collin County. The DFW metroplex has its own unique legal culture, and my experience in these counties allows me to effectively represent clients throughout North Texas.

San Antonio and Surrounding Area – I have handled cases in Bexar County, which includes San Antonio, as well as in surrounding counties like Comal. San Antonio’s proximity to military bases means many cases involve special considerations that I understand and can address.

Austin and Central Texas – Travis County, home to Austin and the state capital, is particularly important for healthcare licensing cases. The State Office of Administrative Hearings is located in Austin, and appeals from licensing board decisions are filed in Travis County District Court. I regularly handle proceedings in Austin and am familiar with these venues.

El Paso and West Texas – I have represented clients as far west as El Paso County, demonstrating my willingness to travel throughout Texas to represent clients effectively.

Healthcare licensing boards exercise jurisdiction throughout the entire state of Texas. If you are a nurse in El Paso, a pharmacist in Dallas, or a physician assistant in Houston, your licensing board can investigate complaints and pursue disciplinary action regardless of where in Texas you practice.

Most formal hearings for healthcare licensing cases occur in Austin before administrative law judges at the State Office of Administrative Hearings. Appeals from licensing board decisions are filed in Travis County District Court in Austin.

I regularly handle healthcare licensing matters in Austin and am familiar with the administrative law judges, the hearing procedures, and the appellate process for licensing cases.

However, licensing investigations can begin anywhere in Texas where you practice. Whether you are in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, or a smaller community, I can represent you effectively from the initial investigation through final resolution.

Texas is a large and diverse state. Courts in Houston operate differently than courts in rural East Texas counties. Prosecutors in Dallas approach cases differently than prosecutors in smaller counties. What works in one jurisdiction may not work in another.

My experience across over thirty Texas counties means I understand these differences. I know how to adapt my approach based on local court culture, the tendencies of specific prosecutors and judges, and the unique characteristics of each jurisdiction.

This local knowledge benefits my clients. When I appear in a county where I have handled cases before, I bring understanding of how that particular court operates. When I appear in a new jurisdiction, I draw on my experience across many counties to quickly assess the local practices and adapt accordingly.

Travel Throughout Texas for Client Representation

I am willing to travel throughout Texas to represent clients. If you are facing criminal charges or a licensing board investigation and your case requires court appearances or hearings outside the Houston area, I will travel to represent you effectively.

Many attorneys limit their practice to counties near their offices. While this may be convenient for the attorney, it limits options for clients whose cases are in other parts of the state.

My statewide practice means you can have experienced, effective representation regardless of where in Texas your case is located.

Criminal Cases in Multiple Counties

Some criminal cases involve alleged conduct in multiple counties or result in charges being filed in more than one jurisdiction. I have experience representing clients faced with criminal cases in more than one county at the same time and I can coordinate defense across different jurisdictions when necessary.

I have also represented clients who face charges in one county while living in another part of Texas. My statewide practice allows me to handle these cases efficiently without requiring clients to hire local counsel in each jurisdiction.

Whether your case is in Harris County, Travis County, or any of the other counties where I have practiced, I bring over thirty-five years of experience to your defense.

For healthcare professionals facing both criminal charges and licensing issues, I offer coordinated representation to protect both your freedom and your license, regardless of where in Texas your cases originate.
